Dear Members,
Following is the schedule to work the
B-17 on June 6th & 7th. The sales staff will man
the trailer that will be parked in front of the old Corporate Air office
(Edwards II) and will sell tickets for the ground tour and air rides
plus B-17 merchandise.
The ground crew will guide customers
through the airplane and help to make sure that nobody goes out on the
ramp. We are close to the terminal building and airport security is very
important. You may want to bring a lawn chair to sit in during your
shift. If you have a gate pass please wear it.
The crew that comes with the airplane
will give us our initial direction on how they want things run and we
will take it from there. We will have water at the site for everybody
that is working to drink. Bathrooms will be available in the Edwards II
building (indoor plumbing, better than an EAA meeting). If you see
people from Edwards, please thank them for their help. Also thank Mark
Kirby from Billings Nissan for supplying a car for the crew.
As of May 19, 2006 the EAA people said
they had 19 paying customers signed up for a ride on the B-17. I hope
that you have gotten your flyers out. Also remember to buy a ticket on
Friday June 2, for a chance to ride the B-17.
Should you have any questions please
call me on my cell phone at 861-5111. I have probably missed a few
things, but we will deal with them as they arise. If there are any other
members who would like to work but have not signed up as yet, please
call.
Larry Mayer is handling publicity and
will have a press flight on Monday afternoon with the paper and local
media people.
This event is an important fund raiser
for us. Thank you very much for your help and be careful out there.
Sincerely,
Steve Tostenrud
